Manifesto by India Finley
A flower is happy. It goes through life growing, changing, and helping other living creatures. We give it water, earth, and sunlight, and it blooms in the happiest, most beautiful way. It makes us happy when we see its simple beauty, and it’s amazing to us that the earth can create such wonderful things. It only cares about what it needs, and it doesn’t worry about things it cannot change. But the flower does change in its lifetime; same as us. Some could say that flowers were meant to grow. That is the reason they were put on this earth, but it could be argued that the flower grows because it is happy to do it. It makes the choice to be happy.
In out lives, we all share a common goal. It effects how we act, the paths we take, and what we decide we want to do. This goal is the reason behind everything. The goal we share is to find happiness in this world. It is the reason we live day after day. People may try to find happiness by studying, working, learning, and dreaming to prepare for our future happiness. Happiness may be our long-term goal in life, but there is a just as important short-term happiness that comes from everyday life. We want to be happy in the end, but we also want to find happiness in our day-to-day lives. Short-term happiness can come from something as simple as a beautiful day, or a smile from a friend. The end result may be harder to get to, but finding happiness along the way reminds us what we want to do. We may do different things to find our happiness, because it is the key reason we do anything. We want to fight for our happiness.
There are revolutions, uprisings, protests, and manifestos because people want to change the world. They believe they have a good idea or vision to make the world a happier place. That is the goal, and the dream we call share. We want to rid the world of its problems.
The reason that there are problems in the world is because we forget to listen to each other. Problems are the result of misunderstandings and a lack of communication. If we listened to each other more, and try to understand other people’s ideas and beliefs, there would be fewer problems in the world. We must remember that we all have the common goal to find happiness, and we should try to support and help each other find theirs, because we are all people who have the right to be heard, understood, and to find our happiness.
As we probably already figured out, life isn’t fair. Some things are based around chance, and we are either lucky or unlucky. But even if this is the case, we must work with what we are given in this world. It is important to accept the world with its unpredictability and unfairness, and find happiness in all situations, because it is always there, like the sun in the sky. But accepting the world wont get us to our goal. Reaching out happiness may require hard work and change. We must be prepared to fight for what we believe in to find happiness in the end. Happiness is a state of mind, and there is always a bright side. We must forget the feelings of revenge, hatred, and jealousy, and stride toward our own ideas and lives. We are all given the choice to be happy, and it is up to us to find happiness or not.
We must remember to take the world with a light heart, and an open mind for we have the power to control and change our lives. We have the power to find the universal happiness.
